STAY CLOSE TO YOURSELF - Part 2




FEEL GRATEFUL


Gratitude is like a magic pill. You can always activate this emotion and turn your entire state of
mind into a few minutes.

By feeling regularly grateful you come closer to who you are. Because by enjoying your life
intensely, the tendency to prove yourself, to pretend to be different and to ask for approval
disappears. Ask yourself:

  • What is going well in my life?
  • What is good and beautiful about me?
  • What can I be grateful for today - however small it may be?

Feel grateful and happy, appreciate your attributes and your unique character.
Be grateful for your life and notice how easily you can stay with yourself.


BE FLEXIBLE


What you do and who you are are two different things. If you want to stay close to yourself,
it does not necessarily mean that you always have to be principled.

Be flexible. Do not behave like a drilling platform, but as a ship. Let yourself be relaxed on the
waves, the ups and downs of your life. It is very possible to remain yourself in turbulent times.
In fact, the closer you stay with yourself, the easier you will get over your setbacks.

OPEN YOUR HEART


Only when you really love yourself can you really love others. When you are close to yourself,
you love yourself and you can open your heart to others.

Do not give away your love, but let love flow through you. Open your heart to all people,
dare to receive love and dare to share it.


ACCEPT AND RELEASE


Everything that went wrong in the past can not be reversed. You can not change the past,
nor can you change the present. The only thing that affects you is the future.

So accept your past and let it go. That is not always easy, but you can do it step by step.
Everything that has happened is part of whom you have been. Determine who you want to be
in the future, and focus your positive energy on that.

GO WITH THE FLOW


Do not live in your head, but live in the moment. If you want to stay close to yourself, you can
literally do that by bringing your attention to the here and now. The here and now is the only
place where you are currently located.

Do not keep running around in your head, do not let your thoughts run wild. Live now. Use your
senses, feel your breath, the warmth of the sun and the freshness of a spring shower.
Let life come a bit over you, follow your feelings and do not worry about the future. Go with
the flow, and feel how light and happy you can feel.


You are a great person, so stay close to who you are. That makes your life easier and happier.
